About Us

The History


Round Valley ranch has been owned and operated by the Troutt family since 1966. The passion for beef production and the love of the western way of life are the backbone of the operation. Ken Troutt fell in love with Round Valley, Idaho. He purchased the ranch in 1966, the land had historically been used to produce timothy hay, a product so desirable that it was shipped by train to the east coast for race horses in the 1920's.


The Cattle


The Round Valley Ranch cowherd is primarily angus, we are selecting genetics to raise functional cattle that are well suited for their environment as well as provide an exceptional eating experience for our customers. Sustainability is at the heart of everything we do. We are dedicated to the care and well being of our cattle. Our commitment to quality means you can trust our products, knowing they come from a responsible source.


The Family


The Troutt family owns and operates Round Valley Ranch, a fifth generation Idaho ranch. Kelly and Susy Troutt, their daughter Annie and son-in-law Daniel Inks, along with their grand children handle day to day operations and the direct to consumer beef business.
